Flight Training Professionals
BMFT employs only certificated flight instructors (CFIs) who have real-world experience in the national airspace system. Unlike many other flight schools, we do not employ inexperienced instructors fresh from being trained themselves and who choose to instruct solely to build necessary flight time to qualify for corporate or airline pilot jobs. Our instructors are professional pilots who happily share their aeronautical experiences with each of their students.
Bob Miller - Chief Flight Instructor:
The school is led by Bob Miller, CFII, ATP. Bob has been actively flying airplanes for over 30 years and has been teaching full-time for the past 10 years. He holds instrument, commercial, and airline transport pilot certificates and has logged over 10,000 hours of accident-free flight.
Bob is also a Cessna Aircraft Company factory authorized transition instructor for its new high performance Cessna Corvalis aircraft. This is the fastest single engine, fixed gear, piston aircraft on the market today. Bob also holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the City University of New York.
Bob was recently inducted into the Niagara Frontier Aviation Hall of Fame for his contributions to aviation education and flight safety. In addition, Bob's weekly Aero-News Network flight training podcasts are listened to by over 20,000 pilots around the world. He is also a contributing editor for IFR Magazine.
Bob also serves as Buffalo, New York's CBS Television affiliate WIVB Channel 4’s aviation analyst. He has also appeared on ABC Good Morning America and NBC Today Show programs as an aviation expert. Bob also publishes a monthly online flight training publication that is read by over 15,000 pilots around the world. Titled “Over the Airwaves,” this widely acclaimed publication is rich with flight safety messages. Click here to see "Over the Airwaves"

Bill Geary - Staff Flight Instructor
Bill Geary, like Bob Miller, is one of our "senior flight instructors" at Bob Miller Flight Training. Of his 10,000 plus hours logged as an airman, most of it has been either as a corporate pilot or flight instructor. Bill is a multi-engine rated Airline Transport Pilot and is also Single Engine Float Plane Rated.
Throughout the years, as an instructor, Bill has always considered each of his students special. Perhaps one of the most recognized is Hollywood actor,Tom Cruise, who Bill gave instrument instructions to in Italy. This was during one of Tom's limited availabilities between staring in films. It was a period between the making of Mission Impossible and Gerry Maguire.
Bill has chosen Bob Miller Flight Training as his aviation "Home Port", because of Bob Miller's professional and gentlemanly way that he conducts our flying business. With the professionally staffed flight school, and latest state of the art, perfectly maintained equipment, it is the right environment for pilots to learn in. It also makes Bob Miller Flight Training a quality place for Flight Instructors to do what they do best; to help others follow their dream of leaning how to Fly. |
